Three miles east of Kolac'kov, Jakubany is an unusually large village, with close to 3,000 people, most of whom are of the Rusyn ethnic group and speak a form of Ukrainian. The contrast of the old log homes next to a large, gorgeous Greek Catholic church, built in the early 20th century, is striking. The church is dedicated to Sts. Peter and Paul.
